One of the original Digidestined, Izzy was the smartest of the group. He represented knowledge and he was, from the beginning, the most curious about the Digital World. It was Izzy who organized groups and information about the Digital World and in general helped his friends out when it came to understanding the world that they now had access to.
A fairly quiet guy, Izzy was often seen by himself. He tended not to reach out to those around him and often was caught pondering or thinking deeply about whatever might be on his mind. In fact, the most common phrase that he usually is heard saying is the word, "Prodigious!"
As a young boy, in one of the flashback episodes, we learned that Izzy was actually adopted by some relatives after his parents died in a car crash. This upset him enough that he began to distance himself from his family and instead turned to computers to focus himself more in the real world. When he went on to high school, Izzy was in the Computers Club and was typically seen carrying a laptop around with him wherever he went. PB: Eddie Redmayne
